Electrification Virtual Summit

When the pandemic hit three weeks before Electrification 2020 was scheduled to happen, EPRI had to make some tough choices. First, they postponed their international in-person expo to 2022. Then we got the call: Could we help throw an event in the virtual world instead? Together, we re-branded Electrification 2020 into a 5-day virtual summit featuring daily plenary sessions, interactive breakouts, networking opportunities, and virtual exhibition halls featuring 25+ exhibitors. The event was an excellent bridge between the two 2019 gatherings—the U.S. Summit Series and Electrification Europe—and the expo now moved to 2022 in Charlotte.

We created full-scale branded environments for every event space in the virtual platform. Wayfinding navigation gave the sense of attending in-person, while doing so from the comfort of home. Attendees began in the lobby and continued into the auditorium, classrooms and a lounge where the breakout sessions and networking took place. There were four exhibit halls where more than 25 companies presented to attendees. Each booth featured videos and informative materials for visitors to view and was staffed virtually through live chat.
